Mumbai, Delhi schools enter semis

Chennai: Mumbai`s Rizvi Springfield High School and Vidya Jain Public School of Delhi entered the semifinals of the BCCI All-India under-16 school knock-out cricket tournament for the Poly Umrigar Trophy here today.

Vidya Jain school won by seven wickets against Swami Vivekananda International School, Mumbai, while Rizvi Springfield defeated Karam Devi Memorial Academy, Kanpur by 24 runs.

Brief Scores: Swami Vivekananda International School, Mumbai, 146 all out in 45.3 Overs (Prasad Pawar 57, Vikas Singh Hatwala three for 13, Nithish Rana two for 37, Sakib Alam two for 23 and Abhishek Shokeen two for 19) lost to Vidya Jain Public School, Delhi 147 for 3 in 31.1 overs (Sufiyan Alam 58, Barath Gupta 40, Nithish Rana 29 not out and Kushant Agarwal two for 20 and Rizvi Springfield High School, Mumbai 199 for 7 in 50 Overs (Pratyush Gupta 74, Md. Rahman Ahmed 41 not out, Ambikeshwar Mishra three for 29 and Kuldeep Yadav three for 33) beat Karam Devi Memorial Academy, Kanpur 175 in 46.2 overs (Satyam Dixit 57, Rishabh Mishra 36 Aakash Luthra three for 21 and Avinash Upadhyay three for 44).
